Our Story
Nestled among large beautiful trees, fantastic bike trails, and near downtown Bentonville, Sugar Creek Arts Academy has a rich history in the Bentonville School District. For the past 33 years, we have had the opportunity to educate students who have done great things for our community and country. Sugar Creek was built in 1986 as the Bentonville Kindergarten Center. In the fall of 1990, the building was remodeled and turned into an elementary school, housing grades K-5. Sugar Creek was the third elementary school built in Bentonville. Other elementary schools at that time were R.E. Baker and Thomas Jefferson. In 2000, all 5th graders moved to middle schools in the district. Sugar Creek then became the K-4 elementary school that we know now.
We take pride in the fact that we are a diverse neighborhood school with low student-to-teacher ratios. We are also a school that treats everyone like family. Our positive culture stands out to many people who visit our campus.
Academically, we meet students where they are and do whatever it takes to grow them as learners. Sugar Creek Arts Academy is a GAP Relief School focusing not only on high student achievement, but also their social and emotional needs as well.
Our rich history, sense of community, dedicated teachers, parents, and administration assist us in continuing to prepare our students for their future educational journey.
